Reston Festival 2009 Sub-Committee Members Needed

Calling all fun-seeking, energetic people of ALL ages! Join us to celebrate Reston’s heritage with a variety of events, crafts, kids’ activities, musical entertainment and great festival food! This will be Reston’s 45th Birthday Celebration and you’re invited to be part of the planning process! Join us at our first meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Reston Association from 6:00PM – 7:30PM.
Volunteers are needed to serve on various sub-committees to help make the 2009 Reston Festival the best ever! Help is needed from the pre-planning stage to actual assistance during the festival.Volunteers are needed to serve on the following sub-committees:
Activities - This committee is responsible for planning and implementing hands-on activities for children and teens as well as recruiting roving entertainers while providing a safe area for them to operate. They work with, and act as liaisons between the groups managing the activities area.
Food - This committee is responsible for recruiting a variety of quality food vendors and organizing/managing the beer & wine garden. They work with the ABC department, Health Department and Fire Marshall to ensure these vendors are in compliance with all the rules and regulations to provide food/drink.
Sponsorship – This committee must work in advance of the festival to acquire the funds needed to implement this event and must work with the publicity committee to ensure sponsors receive the publicity they require based on their contribution level.
Publicity – This committee works with the Publicity Chairperson and local media to create guidelines for the production of marketing materials for all aspects of the Reston Festival (i.e., flyers, banners, ads, brochures)
